1 cup steel cut oats
3 cups water
1 cup apple cider, or apple juice if cider is not available
2 medium apples, peeled, cored and diced
1½ Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Diced apple or apple sauce
Chopped pecans or walnuts

- Add oats, water, cider, apples, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg to greased or lined slow cooker crock and stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Actual cooking time will vary depending on your slow cooker. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
- To serve, spoon into bowls and allow to cool slightly. Top with fresh chopped apples, nuts, and some real maple syrup, if desired.
