Looking for a great way to drum up some new adventure ideas and save some money while you’re at it? Check out the Michigan Activity Pass. Available through your local library, the MAP offers free passes, admission discounts, and/or shopping discounts on over 100 Michigan museums, recreation areas, and other cultural institutions! This is great for residents with or without kids and also benefits your local library without any extra cost. The program is sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, The Library Network, and The Michigan Department of Natural Resources with the goal of promoting Michigan’s amazing natural and cultural assets.

Getting a pass is easy and the only requirement is a local library card. To get started, go to the Michigan Activity Pass website and enter your location or library name and select a distance range for the list of available passes. Once your information is entered, the website will bring up a list of parks and institutions including a map and website links to each place. Select Get A Pass to see how many passes are available and for what days. It will also give you the details of the discount, such as free/discounted admission, etc. When you’re ready, fill in your information and library card number and print off the pass. You will have 7 days to use it. It’s that easy!
