Disney Cruise Lines Announces Two New Ships

Disney Cruise Lines announced today that two new ships will set sail in 2021 and 2023. The new additions will bring their award-winning fleet up to six. While ship names, design plans, and itineraries are still in development, we know that each new ship will be approximately 135,000 gross tons, which makes them slightly larger than the two newest Disney Cruise Line ships—the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Each of these new ships is expected to include around 1,250 guest staterooms. Construction of the new vessels will be handled by Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. Itineraries and port announcements are still a long ways off, but having two more large ships available will allow Disney to rotate their fleet’s destinations more often. We should expect to see more far flung destinations like Alaska, Hawaii, and a greater variety of European cruises.

As if you needed another reason to plan your next Disney Cruise, there are now two more.
