Lots to Love at the 2016 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

The 2016 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival will run for a record 90 days; two weeks long than last year! This amazing seasonal event will feature new topiaries, and musical children’s play area, two new outdoor kitchens, and 13 bands. The Festival tuns March 2-May 30, 2016.  Check Disney’s website for updates on special weekend events when the Festival gets closer.

This year two new Outdoor Kitchens will feature a culinary Caribbean tour at La Isla Fresca with flavors like Jamaican Braised Beef with Pigeon-Pea Rice and Jerk-Spiced Grouper or Chicken with Mango Salsa. At the new Cider House, a Field Greens salad with greens harvested from The Land pavilion, heirloom apples, Stilton cheese and dried blueberries will pair well with a blueberry hard cider from Plant City, Fla. The Ranger Mickey topiary garden in Future World will offer a guest selfie and family photo opportunity featuring a Spaceship Earth backdrop to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service launched in 1916 to conserve the country’s natural scenic treasures. Donald Duck’s feisty nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, will debut in topiary form at the front entrance display.

Flower and Garden has become my favorite time to visit Disney World in recent years. The weather is perfect, the crowds aren’t too bad, and there’s nothing better than sampling from the food kiosks while strolling around the beautiful gardens. For the best experience go after Spring Break/Easter holidays when the number of tourists slows down. This is a perfect time for adults and younger kids to really enjoy the Parks. Check our Travel Deal listings for current Disney World discounts and I also highly recommend Disney Travel Agent Jennifer Greene for help booking the right Disney vacation package for you and your family.
